New Basic Computer series coming in September

The CYC Center is taking sign-ups for a new round of Basic Computer and Internet classes starting on Tuesday, September 6 and Wednesday, September 7.

The free twelve-hour "beginner" course includes six two-hour classes over a three-week period. There's a morning series on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 am to noon, and an afternoon series on Tuesdays and Fridays from 2 pm to 4 pm.  Here's a description of the subjects they cover.

All classes take place at the CYC Center in the Brooklyn Center shopping plaza, between the CVS and Georgio's Pizza.

To sign up for Basic Computer and Internet training in September:
Free computers!  Neighbors who complete classes at the CYC Center in September or October can take home a free refurbished desktop computer system.  Each of these systems, donated by a local business, includes everything but a monitor.*  They're newly loaded with the Ubuntu Linux operating system (similar to Android) and include up to date web browsers, office programs and other software.

We have a limited supply -- offer ends when we run out.  Don't miss this opportunity!

* We can get you a good refurbished flat screen monitor for $20 or less.
